Orloff

The famous “Orlof” restaurant in Spetses is one of the most emblematic of the region. Occupying a neoclassical building that was originally the island’s first Port Authority in 1802, the Orlof restaurant has for decades impressed guests with the quality of its cuisine.

The building, post-Byzantine style, is located next to the historic monastery of Agios Nikolaos, offering a stunning view that includes the Old Port, Hydra, Doko, Trikeri and the Peloponnese coast. Its terrace is a paradise for those who wish to enjoy the beauty of the island during their meal.

The restaurant was established in 1991 and is one of the Top 100 restaurants for 2020. The owner, Christos N. Orlof, transfers tradition and quality to his kitchen. The changes that have occurred over the years concern mainly the taste of the dishes, always remaining true to the high quality. The restaurant’s name comes from the Russian Orlof officials, who participated in the Orlof naval battles during the Russo-Turkish War (1768-74), with the family being recognized for their heroic role in the Greek revolutionary efforts.
