Although the monastery has existed since 1700, it played an important role during the Revolution of 1821, from where the uprising of the Speciosites began.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the bones of Paul Marie Bonaparte, son of Napoleon Bonaparte&#8217;s brother, are preserved in the Monastery of Agios Nikolaos in Spetses.
